I agree that Ethereum will do well, and also that the metaverse will be huge. I think the early players like Decentraland will do well, simply because they were there early and the more people invest in these platforms the more they fight to make sure these platforms survive. However, the metaverse industry will quickly become saturated, and some will fail similar to social media companies that lost traction (like MySpace).
