Alas, this year the great rank random decided to deprive me of their attention. I hope he will visit me in the near future and I will not have to recruit another thousand merit for this rank to finally appear in my profile. 
Yeah, here's hoping you don't have to wait until the absolute last activity period possible to hit Legendary. I almost had to wait that long, and I hit that rank very close to the time the merit system rolled out, so I lucked out big time in 2018. You've tooted your own horn, so I won't have a go at it except to congratulate you on hitting that milestone that puts you in some very rarefied air. You're a thorough poster, so it's appropriate for you to have earned all those merits so quickly--so fast that you did it at Hero rank.
Didn't o_e_l_e_o also get 6000 merits at Hero rank? I know he posted here but didn't mention it, so I could be imagining things.
