Unfortunately there was a hack that lost a lot of these funds too. The code for the version of the site at the time of the hack was developed by hired developers.
However, I still admitted blame for failure to detect the hack either in review or testing.

That gave a lot more ammunition to the trolls/competitors that wanted to see the site die off.

The problem is this is all he said about the hack.  Any time anyone asks for evidence or details of the hack, he just goes into full asshole mode.

Due to a recent hack https://betking.io has now closed.

We are working to recover funds and return balances and bankroll investments back to users asap.

We aim to have all balances returned to users by the end of 2020.

All users with significant balances have been contacted by email or Telegram. If you have not received an email and had BTC, ETH, EOS or LTC on the site please email support@betking.io.

We are looking at ways to buy back all BKB and BKT starting from Jan 2020 with the goal of buying all tokens by the end of 2020. Token holders will be contacted and updated of progress in Jan 2020.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

In the crypto world when you're responsible for securing other peoples money, you can't just say "sorry, got hacked, sites closed, will try to pay back asap" and not expect everyone to think there's a shitload more to the story.

If ever there were a time to be transparent, it's right after you got hacked for a bunch of money that didn't belong to you.  Dean has been the opposite of transparent.
