Metaverse was the buzzword for 2021, but I think that as we move forward, more people will realize that metaverses are completely impractical and as a result will see very little adoption / have very little value.
A lot of the coins that was listed have no direct link to metaverses either, e.g. FTM and SOL are more known for DeFi applications rather than metaverse technology. But I'd say watch for a pullback in this space very soon.
I think that while you are right hype has a huge effect on people, even if they know that those coins have no future and that people will eventually realize those coins are worthless and will see little adoption, they will still see in those coins an opportunity to make money with them, and as that is what most people want more than anything then I expect the hype for metaverse coins to continue for a long time, especially if at some point during the next months the price of bitcoin begins to grow up again.
