I want to invest in a promising project called CheckDot. Their token sale starts this weekend and I think this is a good opportunity to successfully invest money.

Not for now. investing in a new project I think it's great if the project has a strong community, Great Team, and has experienced project developers and clear use cases for the future. if there is something like what I mentioned then invest in it because there is a possibility that the project developed by them will be in great demand in the future.
theoretically what you say about the new project is very clear and precise, that it must be smart to pay attention to all aspects that have been given information about their project. but it should be remembered that scams on new projects that look good all seem to have been set up in such a way, but ultimately can't guarantee any of that.
now many smart people just want to make a momentary profit by creating a new project but not to develop it so that every time it will continue to grow new projects after the project has been completed and ignored.
