Why not? If they do research together they can choose one of the sites that will be nice to both of them and get additional profit due the referral system. And if i understand correct - the OP doesn`t worry about his friend success - he want to get some percent from all of his bets, but not from the wins. I use referral system at several sites with my friends and often before register we gives the referral link to each other. We don`t lose anything in this situation but get some additional profit.
So we take benefits if they sign in under our referral but we do not gamble too often like them. That sounds good to have an active referral because that can give us a passive income from gambling. After all, they will play more often than us and of course, they will use more money to gamble. If that is so, @OP really needs to have a recommended crypto gambling site and suggest to his friend who wants to gamble under his referral.
This is true for any referral system. At trading just one my referral with good trading volume makes me profit more, then i get with myself trading. The same situation in gambling. The only thing that i want to say about it - i like to tell about it to my referrals giving my ref link. And when i see that someone gives his link hiding - i try don`t use it, even if his information was useful for me.
