I must admit that I really enjoyed the Atletico Madrid - Athletic Bilbao match also like I did in the El Clasico. Maybe Atletico Madrid seemed to be the favourite on paper but I wasn't believing in them too much to win this match. Because eveyone knows how terrible they have been for many weeks in the La Liga. And there was no reason for them not to maintain this bad form here too. Athletic Bilbao benefited from their condition in a great way and defeated them by 2-1. And they are Real Madrid's opponent in the final round of the Super Cup.
Atlético is really in a crisis and this defeat was logical - in addition to scoring just one goal, they conceded two, which is a lot for a defensively oriented team. Tomorrow they play an away match with Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey, I wonder if they will fly out of this tournament, will this shake Simeone's position as head coach?
