How's that true? Can't you verify if the channels you're routing transactions exist in the Bitcoin blockchain?
As much as some customers might be satisfied paying with exotic payment methods, there is a threshold were such options are too costly and cumbersome for the sales (and satisfaction) it could possibly bring in.
Sure. But, if one out of the ten merchants starts accepting Lightning he makes the difference. The rest have an inferiority when it comes to payment methods. I honestly don't know if the elasticity of demand from such change gives greater profit than the extra costs. I suspect that if the merchants like Bitcoin they will get involved with it and handle it properly. I mean how much dedication do you need to maintain your channels?
