I don't know about you but for me I will only hold coins for long term if we see a unforgiving bear market ( better buying opportunity ), I believe bear market hold the key to long term holding, I can't buy coins at high price sorry ( present market is buying at high price) and decide to hold for years, I will only buy now to sell later ( short term ).. stupid idea? Let's hear your thoughts
If you do not have the skill of market analysis, you are better off investing in the long term. You can always choose the currencies that are worth investing in and buy them at a low price. And with a long wait and patience, you can achieve significant gains!!!
But investment for long term also requires the minimum of market analysis skills. Except for bitcoin and few other coins, all other coins seems to me not worth holding for long run. Few years ago, i invested in Grin coin with the intention that it's a giant project that will change the way we see cryptocurrencies, but unfortunately he lost value due to several reasons like the lunch of Beam coin which is another concept from the same protocol by which Grin was developped.
I think Bear market is the key for short term investment but note that the gains will not be that significant unless you invest with big money which is more risky because no one can guarantee that such a coin will recover after the Bear.
