Good King Danny has died of a surfeit of stepping in to help Ukyo.  When he promised that everyone at Neo & Bee would work towards Ukyo salvation but then soon afterwards stated that nobody who works at Neo & Bee is working towards it, he created a "who shaves the barber" style paradox. He could keep press-ganging visitors to the office and random passers-by to work off Ukyo's debt, but sooner of later he would realize that he himself was both at neo & bee AND working at neo & bee.  So his head exploded like in a 1960s Star Trek episode.

Mind you, this is just speculation.
