Having experienced developers is a plus to know that the project have a future and that it is capable of handling the issues and activities of the project. It is needed to have a experience to determine how they can probably work on the project. Though when it comes in new projects that is not backed by know companies or personalities I prefer to buy them once they already have new development, been done with ICO projects before that just disappear after buying. Good thing now we can buy in a much secure trading sites than before.
That is why people ask for the team to doxx themselves in projects. The fact that if they scam you, at least you have their name and so forth matters, but at the same time it is not just for to make sure you won't be scammed, you could still be scammed and not be able to do anything about it. The main and biggest reason is that you could literally see them doing work before they started this one, and that matters.

If a person who is in charge or a project worked on another project for years, then it makes sense of him to start another project and that is a great deal, if that person is anonymous then how would we know if they did anything similar before? So, knowing who is in charge of a project matters a lot when it comes to crypto, it allows you to know if you should trust them or not and without trust then there is nothing in crypto left to invest.
