Manchester City finally stumbled this week and this helped Liverpool a lot. I was expecting Manchester City to defeat Southampton but they got a surprising 1-1 draw. Southampton scored a very early goal and kept it for a very long time. Manchester City equalized it but couldn't score the second one. By this result, Manchester City couldn't defeat them in both games in the league this season. And Liverpool benefited from their point loss like defeating Crystal Palace by 3-1 away. Now the gap is nine points and Liverpool can make it six if they win their absent game.
Of course this is a very good opportunity for Liverpool FC to close some points gap between them and Manchester city, but nevertheless I feel it will be so difficult for the Red stars to overcome this gap, as Manchester city will not like to loose any match as the are seeing Liverpool moving close. But anything can happen in football, let's wait and see.
