He PM'd me that info. I know that it's probably fake, but it's worth following up every lead we have. People do get sloppy. That phone number for example - at the point he gave it to me he was very likely expecting me to call and confirm, so it may be a number he or an associate of his had control of so he could allay my fears. Burner phone? Most likely. But someone answered it just an hour or so ago. Your high up government buddy would very likely have more success than me in pulling info on the number though  

Edit: He's also got a pretty extensive post history, it'd be worth seeing if he posts from a limited number of IPs and follow those up too.
