I’m not sure I know what you’re asking here exactly but I’ll do my best to answer what I think you may be asking. I guess it’s the same reason anyone would care if you bought any other sort of investment. The government cares because they like keeping track of everyone and to make sure you pay your taxes on it when you go to sell it. Anyone else who cares? Being nosey I suppose.
