The president of Ukraine is a former comedy actor and he still joked when he was president. Distributing 18,000 weapons to civilians without training is tantamount to sacrificing the people for nothing.
In extreme situations that's what you do to survive.
Russians in WW2 were attaching explosives to dogs so that they'd run towards enemy tanks and explode. Women were fighting without any training, children were fighting. It was the same in China when Japan attacked. Chinese teenagers were fighting and dying to stop enemy forces. In occupied Poland kids were working as couriers, delivering orders to soldiers. Many died because Germans were targeting them to stop communication.
You don't need much training to shoot AK47 and throw grenades. Children in Iraq and Afghanistan proved it to the US military.
Sadly those kids are only heroes on the otherside. The Chinese kids who fights bak the Japanese are heroes for the China. The kids from Afghanistan are only heroes to Afghans just as kids from Iraq are heroes to Iraqis. The saddest part is that those who invaded them are also treated heroes in their land for dismanttling the so called terrorist.
Comedian or not, he fights back. But Putin also fights back the bigger empire that threatens his country land security. Who are we going to consider hero in that situation?
