OK thanks for the tips doing some reading of cgminer docs for the usage to mine with cgminer AND sgminer simultaneously on single box multiple GPU's. Hopefully VTC wallet will be synced up by the time I gets configs sorted to mine both scrypt and scrypt-n. I will solo mine it with 1 card until I find a good pool for VTC with some good hashrate.

EDIT: have had decent luck Solo mining very low diff coins such as DMD. Have not looked at diff for VTC yet but like many have said here the ASIC era will destroy scrypt coins, time to move to ASIC resistant coins ...
looked at diff for VTC 209+ not too shabby however 2% fee although they are DDoS protected. Will give it a shot instead of Solo.
Just thinking about it, who has experience with vertcoin here? I was thinking whats the MH/BTC/ Profit ratio with this? say you want to chuck 10-14 x R9 290x at it
