I do not think in the OP he was mentioning about those kind of suffering. USA and EU countries export many raw materials from Russia and because of the vastness of Russia it contains many valuable commodities. Putting sanction on Russia means they can not sell their products which will hurt their economy at the same time due to lack of supply other countries will suffer too and no exception for US.
