If it did, it must show up on your account unless you gave a wrong wallet address or there are sudden traffic because of the network used, which I believe seldom happens when you paid enough gas fee and there's no really transacting that much. After all, 10 minutes is the average transaction processing time. Double check if the wallet address you gave is the same with your wallet address itself. Sometimes there are sudden changes on the address on you just copy and paste it. To better ensure it, always check the first and last 5 characters of the address. If you confirmed that it is exactly the same, then you don't have anything to worry about because if the sender did sent you a bitcoin, it will be sent to your account.

If possible, get the transaction ID of the transfer to check if there is an existing transaction or your "friend" is just fooling you around.
