That's something Overnight, "transactions" completed on the other Seedbox, and later "outputs" did the same. I didn't try "inputs" due to disk space limitations. So I think I can conclude it works, and it may or may not start instantly.
I'll stop fiddling and let it run for now, anyone who's in a rush can always go for the http download.
