I think the idea of quiters never win and winners never quit has led some persons to early grave. There is no harm in quiting, it is better you quit than trying the wrong way. When you don't know how things work, quit. Quiting does not mean you cannot rejoin, just quit temporarily and acquire some required skills and you can key in again.
He who fights and runs, lives to fight another day and the same is the hero. So, it is good you learn how to do it than doing it wrongly all your life.

There are certain things in life that you need to decide whether to keep it or quit from it. Keeping it because you know you still have the chance to improve and prove to yourself that there is more that you can do. In the end, its only you who can decide what's best for you. And OP, i think the term is simply "worst" as no such word as "worstest".
