I think I will begin by saying last year was more of DeFi while little was heard of NFT, and of course DeFi trend was okay which saw many projects trying to blend in through bringing in one Defi services or the other, while it worked for others, it didn't work for some. Nevertheless, currently NFT is now being heard of hugely than DeFi which shows the trend has changed, and the growth of many NFT tokens is a proof to that. However, I like the part you said, "Do Your Research", because everyone knows that when a trend like this starts, scammers will always look for ways to leverage on the opportunity presented hence doing your research is always important.
Lastly, the market is not too good but who knows NFT trend can still be massive, since no one can actually predict this space
