From the contest only, I do even doubt that duelbits will make enough profit to cover the fix guaranteed prize $50,000. This amount is already big compared to the requirement, that's why I have no idea why someone suggest to distribute the 1M if there is no one predict 100%. Without a doubt, all players (including me) will be so happy if duelbits will do as his suggestion but still it does not make senses for any business to distribute 1M for almost free.
I'll understand of having the $1M being distributed only if the event is big, or is a yearly event, and if they have also some partnerships that will cover some of those prizes. In that way, I think they can split the prize if ever no one was able to perfectly predict all the matches outcome. Everyone will appreciate that and will be very happy if ever they got something from it.
The promotion is still really good since there is an assured $50k prize pool.
