Recently a news was flashed and that is that RikoDik deal has been signed again. This time, its 50/50 partnership in profit. 50% will go to Pak and 50% will go to the mining company.
Is it fair ? i thought that giving 50% of gold is too much. Its like giving trillions of dollar to the company. A whole country is just getting 50% and a company is given 50%. Though we got trapped as there was a big penalty but still then there were some good options that they could had opted.

1. a deal, where the company could get 50% profit in the first 2,3 or may be 5 years to cover their loss of 11 billion and after those 5 years , the deal should had been 80/20 in Pakistan favor.

2. a deal with another company to pay the 11 billion dollars on spot and then they would be allowed to take profit for like 5 years so as cover the 11 billion and some profit on it and then after that all the profit could be shared 80/20 or 90/10

3. shud had paid the 11 billions directly from some friend and could had paid to that country in installments though the mining of that gold in some years.

But giving them 50% share is too much. its really is too much if you know that this could be the largest gold and copper mine in the world. I sometimes feel angry on the politicians and bureaucrats who trapped Pakistan in this deal in the first place in 2005 i think.
