Lets take that there were 50 such cases (but I think there were a lot less, just because a few accounts were spamming this thread there seemed to be a lot of it).
50 x $ 500 = $25k
The expense for a signature campaign is about $2k - $2.5k per week, so $25k would cover only about 3 months of the campaign and it has been going on for 10 months.
However, the point is not that it would not cover the costs of campaigns. The point is, it would be silly to risk such a huge loss of reputation trying to cover the costs of a signature campaign.
I believe there must have been more than 50 scam cases already and with people who lost much more than $500, that's why they have funds to pay the participants of the signature campaign. But leaving that aside, I have a question:
