Airdrops not totally reliable, talking of airdrops then was 2017 and 2018 there were many project that was only launching airdrop and got succeeded without running any other marketing or further promotions but after few years back scammers invalided using airdrops and some phishing site swipe people make it difficult to people to join airdrop. Secondly due to large numbers of participants joining airdrop at last it turns to trash payment.
in 2017/2018 there are indeed a lot of airdrops that you can rely on, and of course a lot of people who follow get big profits, but with so many airdrops and most of them it's just a scam, and many also get tokens from the income following the Airdrop will but the token was never listed on the market, so right now I'm not even interested in participating in the Airdrop.
