For every project community means everything. Only community can desigt how usefull is the project and what it can offer the people.
Without community it is impossible to survive. It is necessary to support community and incourage the community.
Community support the ecosystem of the project.
Well it's true that the community has a big part in every project but it's useless if the community spreads FUD to the project itself without any positive comments the project will fall slowly. If we dont like the project because the team didn't hear what you want it's better to look for another project that respects us more. More community in a project will help the project get known by other people because more people more free advertising.
But I think, what makes FUD not part of that community, those who spread it just want to make personal gain. And here we need firmness from the development team to deny from the existing FUD. A solid community will certainly suppress the existence of FUD, but it must be supported internally from the project itself so that there is continuity in order to prevent people from straying from the main goal of a project.
