In the current situation, most of the people in the world are looking for the answer to this question. But no one has the answer to this. It hurts both countries, every country in the world knows this. Everyone wants it to stop. Because peace is the only solution to every problem. I am Indian and an ardent worshiper of peace. And pray to my God that this war will end soon.
At this point I think we can safely assume the war is not going to be over until Putin obtains whatever he wants out of Ukraine, if he cared about the Russian citizens, soldiers and the citizens of Ukraine at all then this war would not have begun or at least it would have been over long ago, so the only valid theory that remains over the table is that Putin will stop at nothing to get exactly what he wants, even if he has to ruin both Russia and Ukraine in the process.
Putin wants a lot of things, but the point is, will he get it or will he die soon, after which the situation will begin to stabilize. Ukraine for a month and a half of the war showed that with the support of the United States and Europe with weapons, it is capable of independently destroying the "second army of the world." Already during this time, the main combat-ready military units of Russia have either been completely eliminated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or have largely lost their combat capability. Now Russia has thrown even cadets of higher military schools to the east of Ukraine, the last combat-ready army of Russia is being transferred from the Far East. More than ten such armies that invaded the territory of Ukraine in February-March are successfully crushed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yes, Putin does not want to accept defeat and throws already poorly trained soldiers into Ukraine, collects mercenaries from all over the world, but the situation is gradually turning against him anyway. It is already clear that Putin will lose this war and it will turn out to be a great disaster for this country, since it will be necessary to pay hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine for the damage caused to its economy and its population. It is predicted that Putin does not have long to live, and Russia itself may fall apart into separate pieces, as it previously did with the help of force with neighboring states - Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
