You can get into trouble for owning certain coins that someone else has branded as tainted and suspicious. The solution seems so simple. Just avoid these horrible services that do that. In reality, it's much more difficult than that. They market themselves really good, and you won't come across decentralized solutions until you get deeper into the problem. They are simpler, user-friendly, and more attractive. There is no need to repeat where the majority of users will rather go when given a choice between using something that's easy but less secure and difficult but with increased security.
