Facebook making META is a proof that Metaverse will be big, even Mark CEO of Facebook thinks like that,

I am not entirely sure if they are "the hype" anymore. I mean they are fine, but they are not "the hype" anymore. NFT's are getting less and less attention, even something as simple as google trends will show you that there are less people searching for it, which also works for metaverse as well.
NFT was a simple thing, for most people "you buy an image" was the only explanation, which is a wrong one and its proof of ownership and not images, but could work for images as well if you want to, but metaverse wasn't really understood well, not by outsiders but not for insiders mostly neither, a roblox community is not a metaverse. So until they are used properly, it will keep going down, but could see a spike back if used properly.
