This is nothing new. Scammers will take advantage of any situation to make money. There is a lot of stuff in the media people asking for money to help them escape the crisis. I have come across some on my facebook feed, pictures of women and children in distress. There is usually a writeup that they need money to save themselves. Whenever disasters or tragedies happen, the first thing to do is to offer help and assistance, and the scammers out there are also acting victims so they can take advantage of the situation. While this has been becoming more rampant, i even think its more inevitable. So i guess its only up to us how to take caution and be more wiser not to be scammed, always take time to research first to end up donating in an official and legit wallet address.
