23.5 million people have requested to buy World Cup tickets in Qatar, according to the FIFA website! Most of them expressed interest in watching Argentina matches. Messi's influence on the pitch is quite obvious, the man is way too influential. He has more influence than anyone could imagine. Argentina's fans have always been amazing. Messi would still be the reason for those people to watch Argentina.
The pandemic effects, including the financial world crisis were fastly dissipated, it seems... Tickets for games of world cup in Qatar are approximately 30% more expensive compared to the last world cup of 2018, while for the final games the increasement hits astonishing 45%! That can mean two things: fiat inflation is out of control, what means money isn't worthing anything along the years, or the pandemic plus post-pandemic must have been a profitable period of time for determined segments of our socities. For the average citizen, there is no other option besides sticking with the old and good television to watch the games. At least it's almost free. Tongue
I've read that most tickets so far have been sold to fans living in Qatar, the United States, England, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
Prices really are absurdly high, but I believe the main reason for this is because the games are being held in Qatar, where everything is absurdly more expensive than the average in the rest of the country.
As was FIFA's ticket policy for the 2010, 2014 and 2018 editions of the World Cup, residents of the host country will benefit exclusively from a special price category, but does anyone happen to know what that special price is?
I found this spreadsheet displaying the tickets prices separated in categories:

https://thepeninsulaqatar.com/article/19/01/2022/fifa-world-cup-qatar-2022-tickets-sale-starts-today-with-special-price-for-qatar-residents

Category 4 (CAT 4) refers to the tickets costs for Qatar citizens. As we can see, qataris have access to a huge discount in every stages of the cup.
The prices are showed in Qatari Riyal, the local fiat currency. For better calculating the costs we can use 3,64 QAR = 1 USD.

I hope that these guys who run fifa start putting their hands on their conscience and be fair in the next editions of the world, when I talk about them fair I am referring to them increasing the number of vacancies for the African continent and also looking at that in Africa it is a poor continent and that's why they put discounted ticket prices for people from poor countries and also don't charge high values for TV channels to broadcast the games. I don't know the values and what kind of deal fifa makes with the tv channels, but it's certainly not a fair deal because for someone like me who lives in a poor country every time there's a world cup, people from my country have to pay dearly to be able to watch the games on tv and only watch some games, to be able to watch all the games you will have to pay more money, this is shameful
