If you're constantly up on the news, I'm sure you're aware of the scientists stage worldwide climate change protests.
Over 1,000 scientists from 25 countries took part in the Scientist Rebellion's demonstrations over a week ago.
How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?
I have heard about this and read several articles regarding this matter and I can say that if the scientists are the ones protesting now, it just means it's really bad. To the point that these scientists who spend most of their time researching and inside the laboratory, are going out and making a stance.
It's not really a secret that we are already experiencing climate change and global warming is becoming worse each year. Which is why nowadays, the storms and hurricanes strength are even greater compared to before. In addition, the glaciers are quickly melting which isn't normal, resulting to faster rise of sea level each year in most of the parts of the world. In fact, some areas are even predicted to sink in certain years if this will continue.
Regarding your question, this news isn't really directly connected with bitcoin's price. Although it could be related in a way that bitcoin is consuming a lot of electricity which is non-renewable, hence, has an impact to the environment as well. But as far as I know and based on the threads I read here in the forum, many mining sites and countries are now transitioning into eco-friendly ways to generate power to sustain the needed electricity for mining. And this is a good initiative to protect the environment.
A healthy environment and planet is essential in order for us to continue doing our usual routines and to keep up our lifestyle in everyday. If things won't change, we will suffer the irreversible effects of climate change that certainly will impact everything in the future, including monetary systems, rates of goods and services, and many more. So, do yourself, the future generations, and the planet a favor and take part making small steps even if it's not entirely related with bitcoin.
