Yes, no one wants to end his boxing career in retirement just after a loss and he wants a grand ending before his retirement.
But psychologically, whether he wins or loses and he's really into that decision of retiring. No one can stop him but it's just a better result if he wins against Inoue so that at least they have a 1-1 record and a win for his retirement.

Adding to that, he will be retiring with a great pride if he beats Inoue on their rematch.

That's another accomplishment adding to his name, another belt to be added. We never know what would be his
next move after this upcoming fight.

Whether he win or lose, if his camp decided to retire, there's nothing to ask from him. He gives the pride to our
country and he will always be remembered as one of pinoys pride from this sport.
Yup, that's self-esteem to him and at least he's able to beat Inoue. He's one of the best boxers that I've ever known too. In this upcoming match, most fans are going to think that it's really his last match.
Whether it approves or disapproves, all of his fans are going to like what he's done for his entire career. And he's going to retire with happiness, maybe even in defeat.

He has to make a decision before this fight, regardless of the outcome, it's good that he will retire so he can enjoy his retirement. We know that when a boxer is not getting any younger, he will be prone to injury, and Inoue is at his prime, a heavy puncher, I hope Donaire will have a good movement so he will not be hurt badly in case he will again lose in this fight.

Or maybe his decision defends the outcome of the fight, just like MP, when he won against Thurman, he still look for a bigger fight, trying to push his limit, but when he lose, he decided to retire, so maybe that's the same scenario we will be seeing after this fight if Donaire wins.
Donaire's situation is not that that the same as Manny Pacquiao's situation back when he is still doing fights because Donaire will be an ordinary man if he decides to hang his gloves while the latter has been more into the world of politics that's why he decided to retire specially that time because he was already a senator in the Philippines, IIRC.

Anyways, Donaire needs to decide after this fight no matter if he win or lose and if he will still pursue his career even though he is not getting any younger. He is already vulnerable unlike these young boxers who's recover and healing process is somehow shorter.
