Do you all remember laser episodes on FIFA qualification match between Egypt and Senegal? FIFA punished Senegal's football organization for fan disorder during the match. Action quite justified as they have abused fellow opponents for a long time. Laser that is being used by so many countries should have fined but nothing happens to them. Otherwise FIFA continuous to be the joke association for others.
The truth is any team would take a $200k fine + a game without their fans in exchange for a spot in the FIFA world cup to be honest. It’s a shame though that Senegal got away with this one. The fixture should've been replayed in a neutral venue. Although, some fans would argue that Senegal only gave Egypt a taste of their own medicine but we have to agree that is unacceptable.
@SatoPrincess had FIFA gone in for a replay it would have created complications, because each time a team would be losing then their fans would try and disrupt the game and hope their team would get a rematch hence rematch was never going to be feasible for FIFA.
However what I liked was FIFA has sent out a stern message and I hope from now on such incidents won’t be repeated, and if they yet happen then FIFA should threaten to ban that country that’s the only way these incidents can end.
