I think 8 coins are an enough since it is good to minimize the risk since one can not have 100% assurance that those coins will make you x profits in the long run, in my opinion buying already established coins during a bear market give you some level of peace of mind that in any worst-case scenario you still will not Lose your total investment, unlike some coins that can go down till zero price during a bear market.
