There are alot of trillions sloshing around the world and we live in unique times. Right now its possible to capture some of the worlds reserve currency market so I personally will agree what you say is unlikely but also it is possible.
I agree with a rebrand, as it does not diminish and substantially raises the prospect of a revival. A perfectly feasible event and normal in business afaik
