I had the same error:
[ 13.660556] gpio-20 (sysfs): gpiod_request: status -16

Fixed it by doing this:
Unplug miner from power, unplug all cables, switch cables around when plugging them back in. For me, it was a bad connection somewhere.
Also, very important: check that all fans are working. If one fan does not respond, miner will usually not hash.
