I have to say I really did not see this coming, he did not have a great time at Barcelona but is overall a fantastic player and should play at the highest level possible.
Accepting a transfer to United is a really bizarre move but I guess he wants to be reunited with Ten Hag who knows how to use him best.
Barcelona wants the deal because they need the money and the sources that are reporting it are generally speaking quite accurate.
Local media in Spanish confirmed this transfer almost be deal because Erick Ten Hag want him arrived this summer and i assuming this might be happend because Ten Hag used to has collaboration with Frenkie De Jong while still in Ajax so this can be a reunion for the two of them and the most important is Barcelona need fresh money and with selling this player they will have extra funds to buy another players and price tag for him also very tempting approximately 70-80 millions euro
I think this will be actually good for Barcelona because he arrived in Barcelona with a lot of expectations but to be honest I don't think he ever reached his full potential with Barcelona.
So, I think it is going to be better for the player to move and it will also be good for Barcelona because now they have some money to work with. They will surely try to bring in better players. I am expecting Barcelona to bring in some quality defenders right now.
