Doesnt need to have that crypto winter for you to able to consider on trading with forex. YOu could do both on the same time 
If you do feel on engaging on less volatile then Stocks/Forex would be ideal
But if you do feel to play with high volatile market then Cryptocurrency would be the key.
Crypto winter isnt something new but there are people who dont still touch up Forex market despite of the condition.
