Leipzig got the point they wished for against Bielefeld today. It wasn't too easy for them though as Bielefeld led the game 1-0 for a long period of time. But at the end, there was a 1-1 draw which was enough for Leipzig to go to the Champions League. Freiburg's effort during the whole season was impressive definitely but they made simple mistakes lately and it cost them the Champions League at the end of the season.
This match is not very important for Leipzig, because despite losing they are still qualifying for the Champions League because Leipzig has a total goal in the standings
At least I saw some teams that didn't expect anything in the last match of this season Including Bayern Munich who has secured the title this season since last week
Actually if Leipzig lost and Freiburg won then the thing you said wasn't going to happen. Because the point difference between Leipzig and Freiburg was only two before these games started. So in this case, Freiburg were going to get one point ahead of them. However, the thing you said is true for the case that Leipzig get a draw which happened exactly today. Leipzig didn't have a very ideal season but they still qualified for the CL.
