Frankfurt was able to hold the Europa League trophy in its hands yesterday. This is a very successful end to this season for Frankfurt. This victory qualifies them automatically for the group stage of the Champions League. That means that next season there will be 8 teams from the Bundesliga playing in international competitions. More is not possible.
Bundesliga have 8 team on Europe competition and actually if Leipzig success on play off round will get 5 team from Bundesliga playing on champion league next season. Good achievement from Bundesliga league because they can get 5 spot team for champion league, but actually not good history with Bundesliga team after Bayern Munich failed to semifinal in this season, but we can see have different achievement from Bundesliga team on eruope competition or keep the same.
Doesn't matter if they are successful or not, they will play an elimination game and that is what matters. 8 teams from any nation is a big achievement. This is why I believe that they are a bit overrated and they shouldn't send that many teams.
I mean even 7 teams from the regular league situation is a big mistake, they should send like 5 or 6 at best, and 7 is not great and with the 8th they just became way too big. Bundesliga doesn't have that many great teams, they have a very tiny amount of teams that are good, like maybe bayern and dortmund and leipzig, but then suddenly Frankfurt wins and that becomes a bit of a shock and everyone starts defending 8 teams.
