Neither! There is no global currency and gold isn't a reserve anymore. We have long back moved to a debt based economy. So I don't see bitcoin becoming a global currency ever in the future or gold as a reserve for any countries.

Both assets are great investments so you will see people or organizations buying these assets for their own benefits. Even governments can jump to the bandwagon in future. But what you are asking - will never happen!
