This just crossed my mind and there's a possibility that this scenario exists in real life

Do You Think It's A Cause Of Concern For Your Employer if he finds out that you are a compulsive gambler and you are working in a department that deals with money,

Definitely  it will be the cause of concern for the employer.  You see from the definition of compulsive gambling..

Quote
Compulsive gambling, also called gambling disorder, is the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on your life. Gambling means that you're willing to risk something you value in the hope of getting something of even greater value.

The term uncontrollable urge to keep gambling is the key phrase why an employer will be a concern especially if you are assigned to a Dep't that controls finances.

do you think it's right that he transfer you to another department that has nothing to do with money?

Actually transferring an employee that has a gambling disorder to another Dep't is a generous act of the employer because he keeps him away from losing his job if ever the gambling disorder kicks in, at least he is blocked from the temptation of using the company funds for gambling.
