I had more expectations from Leipzig this season, but the club failed the first half of the season and so we saw the classics of the genre again, when the only competitor of the Bavarian giant was the club from Dortmund. Until Dortmund changes its strategy of making money by selling players, then I think Munich can be calm about this particular competitor.
Leipzig must have very good strategy to keep their star players in the club and find young players as replacements in case star players move to other clubs. Youth players no matter they are home-grown or bought, are future of the club. Leipzig looks like to do it better than Stuggart, Wolfsburg, etc. in the past. They are growing like Dortmund and if they can maintain it, they will build up their position in top 3 of Bundesliga.
But the problem is when dealing with money they are so willing to let go of their core players and this is certainly very difficult for them to navigate the next season.
But on the other hand they need things like this to make their finances stable.
For example for last season alone there were some of their key players who had to move to Bayern with higher pay and salary, on the other hand their coach was also allowed to leave but indeed they have several times the profit from the sale.
