Of course and there is; it depends on how much time you're willing to devote for learning more about bitcoin. Things like how cryptography works theoretically, how a Bitcoin client works, how other software work etc. One thing that's also recommended is to make questions. You can't learn something if you're not willing to question it.

I strongly recommend reading learnmeabitcoin.com, the Bitcoin wiki and lopp's Bitcoin information. Mastering Bitcoin is a must-read. For questions, I suggest visiting this forum often and for more technical, stackexchange.
