As a newbie, you are eligible to get some merit from me for demonstrating that you have the ability to sign a message.  It's a pretty simple task and if you have a Bitcoin wallet, it shouldn't take you more than a couple of minutes.  I'd recommend taking a look and getting your merit journey started there.  Like a struggling musician who throws some coins in their guitar case to spur donations from others, maybe having a few more merit will get people to more freely send you more.
