I have been either DT1 or DT2 for many months/years now - continuously. Where the climate DT deniers find it hard to grasp is there is no actual difference as to whether a person has ten people on DT1 who trust them and twenty people on DT1 distrust them OR twenty people on DT1 trust them and ten people on DT1 who distrust them, they are STILL on DT either 1 or 2.
Whatever lies you need to tell yourself to help you cope is perhaps fine, but lying publicly is not cool. There is a substantial difference between the two scenarios you described.
"a person has ten people on DT1 who trust them and twenty people on DT1 distrust them" - this person loses almost all of their DT privileges. Their inclusions don't get to DT2. Their trust ratings are not visible by default. The only thing they have is the ability to "downvote" other DT1 members.
"twenty people on DT1 trust them and ten people on DT1 who distrust them" - this person has all DT privileges.
"they are STILL on DT either 1 or 2" false in the first case.
