Thanks for the response. I attempted to run vertminer with GPU0 and various other scrypt miners simultaneously on GPU1, to no avail. I did receive an error that lead me down the path of using different api ports (GPU0-API 4028 and GPU1-API 5000) which didn't really work. Even with differing API ports the cards behaved weird, most notably with the fans competing for attention. It was as if the cards intermittently reported temps, the fans would alternate between running high then low, sporadically. Unfortunately I will not be able to mine VertCoin as a result, unless I want to forego the use of one card for a measly 350Kh/s solely for VertCoin. sigh...
