I see it not for the Bundesliga but more for the competition that is in the Champions League. In the Bundesliga they are without a doubt to dominate the League every season, but that is the opposite of their performance in the Champions League. Now they have to be better prepared for that competition, because the other teams are also preparing very well.
I agree with what you said, for sure bayern made a big purchase to prepare for the UCL next season (not only bayern but also big teams from other leagues)
