I don't mind.  The current leaders of my religion are hypocrites.  They warn us not to gamble but they host different raffle events just for the sake of fundraising.  So basically the religious leaders are against gambling and forbid us to do such a thing and only they can do it by hosting raffles.

And about scripture, I don't think there is no direct commandment that forbids anyone from gambling.  All this negativity and forbidding actions of religious leaders are just their own understanding of some verses specially the one that has a connection to money.
